What is it in space that possesses the power of opening our subconscious?
How can we reach moments of ‘déjà vu‘, and grasp certain memories we would, by time, forget to think about?

BABA

(Graduation Project 1, 2019)

As a development of the study about memory and the subconscious connected to space, more specifically placing the research question: ‘Can a certain space affect the human mind in a therapeutic way that evokes personal memories?’, I created a playground of soft particles. Previously working with sheep’s wool, I discovered that the material does not only have therapeutic textural features, but it is also visually appealing and triggers the imagination. ‘BABA’, as a collection, becomes a furnished space to walk through and get comfortable in three different positions, possibly reminding us of being a child, trying to fit ourselves into small intimate spaces—seeking for exile, in order to let ourselves understand
the world—and dream.

The collection is for sale (also by pieces) on inquiry via e-mail. Custom designs are possible!
